WHAT IS A (J)CSA?
(Jewish) Community Supported Agriculture is a weekly vegetable subscription service that connects customers directly to their local farmer. CSA members receive a weekly share of vegetables throughout the farming season, with each week's selection reflecting what is in abundance on the farm that week. Because CSA customers pay up front for the season, CSAs provide (especially small) farmers with financial security while also guaranteeing customers a fresh supply of local veggies every week.
The mission of One Soil Farm is to provide a truly community-based CSA for the Jewish community of Durham. Our JCSA schedule will align with the Religious School calendar at local synagogues, so that families can pick up their JCSA shares on Sunday mornings when they pick up their children from Religious School.
The pilot season of our CSA program will begin in spring of 2020.
For the 2019 season, you can purchase vegetables from our Sunday morning Farm Stand at the Levin JCC! We will see you there in the spring!
