A YEAR IN THE GARDEN PART 3: Mid-Season Maintenance!
This workshop series is for aspiring to intermediate gardeners who want to go through an entire season of growing vegetables in their yards. In this series I’ll take you from preparing your soil and building a raised bed all the way to harvest and extending your season in the winter! If you don’t have a space for a raised bed, don’t worry! We’ll spend time discussing how to plant in containers on a small porch or balcony too! Sign up for the entire series or just take one of them. The best way to learn is to get our hands dirty so these worksop will be mostly hands on with some discussion in the beginning.
In this workshop we will:
Check in on the raised beds we built and planted in Part 1 and Part 2 of this series.
Take a deep dive into common summer pests and disease and how to manage them.
Learn and practice pruning veggiez! We’ll cover all the classics: tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, squash, basil etc. We’ll practice on plants in our raised beds and on the farm.
Discuss mid season fertilizing.
Geek out about plant botany of course!
Walk around the farm and learn how to scout for pests and disease
